Judgment Free, Safe Space
The moment you meet with our therapists you will know what sets us apart. We are passionate about hearing your story and meeting you where you are. Our therapists come from diverse ethic and religious backgrounds and have the training and the aptitude to understand complex cultural and religious dynamics.
Salam Therapy prides itself in creating a safe and judgement free space for all faiths, spirituality, ethnicities and identities. We take a client centered approach and will infuse those things most important to you during therapy (eg. Religion).
What to Expect
The first step is to book a 15 minute phone consultation with us to we can better understand what you are looking for, verify insurance/ self-pay rates and book our assessment/ initial appointment. You will be provided with your individual client portal where you will complete detailed intake paperwork, sign consent paperwork and provide demographic and payment information. If you choose to use insurance, we will verify your benefits again and will let you know if there are any issues.
Prior to the appointment, the therapist will review the intake paperwork. The first appointment is approximately 60 minutes long. The therapist will ask if you have any questions about the paperwork and will then highlight our confidentiality and cancellation policies, methods of future communication. Then the therapist will begin the session by asking questions and taking a comprehensive history of the issues. By the end of the session the therapist will reiterate what was discussed and discuss frequency. Although, it will be during the next session that the therapist will have had time to review sessions notes and develop a treatment plan.
Insurance
Most insurances will cover mental health therapy. We would be happy to discuss the details during our initial consultation. If you have an insurance carrier that we are not in-network with, we will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance if you have out of network benefits to get reimbursed directly.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
We also work with most EAPs (Employee Assistance Program). EAPs will cover the cost of therapy for a limited number of sessions. Please call your employer’s HR representative to learn more about the program. We can provide you with relevant information so you can come to us for those covered sessions.
